Expect The Best & Watch Your Selling Career Taking Off March 3, 2006
Too many sales professionals are defeated before they even attempt to go for the sale. Their attitude communicates it loudly to the prospect. You see, people love to do business with winners. If they sense that you are timid and scared, they’ll move on. That’s where having a positive attitude comes in.
A positive attitude will not stop you from being rejected. But it will definitely stop rejection from defeating you. By now you should know that enough people will say no to you. Here’s a profound revelation that you should tattoe on your brain cells: Don’t take rejections personal.
You see, it’s not about you. There can be thousands of reasons why someone would say no. One of them is timing. But it’s no excuse to start your day expecting everyone will say no.
It is said that for every seven nos, one will say yes. Anyone who can do basic math should be able to figure out that selling is a numbers game. Allow enough people to say no, then one is bound to say yes.
Wow! What a concept? So, don’t give up too soon. Keep knocking on those doors until someone says yes. This is the kind of attitude that will give you an edge over your colleagues or competition.
Go for the sale.
